If you are reading this page, you are probably looking for information to help you make a decision about what funeral home to call when your loved one passes. First of all, I applaud you for looking into this important decision. Funeral providers are not equal. On the surface funeral providers may seem the same, they can all provide the services that you are requiring. however, no two funeral homes or directors/embalmers are alike. Each funeral director will have a different approach to services, experience level and a different set of skills that they will employ in their service to your family and a different character. While many of the skills necessary to be a director are possessed in varying degree by every director, the director is as unique as the grieving process itself. I once had a salesperson ask me to rank these three traits of a casket company in order of importance to me as a consumer, price, quality and service. I told him that they were all very important, but I rank them as service, quality and price. Service for me must be first. If I can't get a particular piece of merchandise for a family when it is needed what difference will the other two make. Next was quality and then price was a close third. Quality comes behind service. What good is great quality if I can't get that product to the family? Should the family pay first quality price for a third quality product?  If I have the first two (service and quality) the last, price while important, won't offset shortcomings in the other two, even if substantial lower.  At Stricklin Funeral Home we purchase merchandise from top quality companies.

I mention this story because I feel the same way about funeral service. Our motto is "Our Family Serving Your Family". This is our philosophy of funeral service. We are here to serve you. We are dedicated to the dignified care of your loved one and your family. We will carefully listen throughout the arrangement conference and then work tirelessly to make sure that all of your wishes are carried out. I do want to point out that even though I do rank service first, I by know means will sacrifice quality in the process. We are human and from time to time we will make mistakes; even then we will work hard to fix any errors or omissions. I would recommend that if you have questions about the quality of our care, don't take our word for it. You most likely know someone who has entrusted us with the care of their loved one recently. More families entrust Stricklin Funeral Home than any other funeral provider in the Quad County (Saline, Gallatin, Hardin and Pope) area. Ask any of the families we have served if you can speak with them about their experience with us. Most families will graciously engage in that conversation. If you find speaking with a family about their experience uncomfortable, we have testimonials available on our testimonials page or you can find reviews on Google or Facebook.

The next thing I would mention to you is our facility. Our facility is the largest funeral facility in Saline County and close to the newest. It is one of two that was originally built for use as a funeral home. We regularly invest in the facility and work hard to maintain our facility in good working order and keep it beautiful and comfortable. Our chapel can seat 160 people comfortably no matter what time of year. It is all on one level; no ramps or steps anywhere on the property. Our entire facility is handicap accessible. By the nature of what they are, funerals and visitation are often uncomfortable experiences. The facility should not add to the discomfort. Like the majority of funeral homes, we do not have an onsite crematory, but that does not mean that we cannot provide those services with the same degree of dignified care. We do contract cremation with a local provider just like we contract the cemetery equipment at the graveside.

The last thing is price. It may surprise you since we have a large and well-maintained facility, but we are competitively priced. We are not the least expensive, nor are we the most expensive in the area.  However, I believe (I realize that I am biased) that we present the greatest value in the area for the combination of service, facilities and price. We have made our prices for services and merchandise available on this website for your convenience along with a sample contract

If you decide to call us, you will not get an answering service, you will speak with or will be connected to a funeral professional, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
