Wilma Lee Rister
1929 - 2022
Wilma Lee Rister, 93 of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:09 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Saline Care Center.
Wilma was born on January 14, 1929 in Raleigh, to the late Cecil Clyde and Anna Catherine (Brooks) Rhine. On September 24, 1950 she married Adrian Rister and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2021. Wilma was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church where she was active, particularly in WMU. Wilma was a homemaker and took great care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and baker. She formerly played the piano and organ for Big Ridge Baptist Church.
Wilma is survived by three sons, Darrell Rister and wife, Robin of Harrisburg; Mike Rister of Shelbyville, Tennessee; and Ron Rister of Harrisburg; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adrian, brother, Charles Rhine, sister Barbara Miller, and brother, James Rhine.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 3, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Brent Holloway will officiate and burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM, Friday, June 3, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
