William Prusaczyk

     William “Doc” Prusaczyk, age 98, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:25 PM, Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

     Doc was born on November 11,1922 in Blairsville, Illinois to the late Cony and Mary Prusaczyk.  On December 24, 1949 he married the late Betty J. Holloman, who preceded him in death on November 15, 2013. Doc was a flight mechanic in the Army Air Forces during WWII.  He earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Illinois, graduating class of 1954; he owned Small Animal Clinic in Harrisburg for 58 years.  Doc was a member of the Harrisburg VFW and his greatest joys in life were his work, mowing and taking care of his property.

     Doc is survived by his 3 children; William Keith Prusaczyk and wife Mary of Fairfax, Virginia, Diane Hafford and husband Darrell of Harrisburg, Kevin J. Prusaczyk and wife Jacquie  of Corvalis, Oregon, 8 grandchildren; Maggie Prusaczyk and husband Aaron Kenley of Honolulu, Hawaii, Wynn Katherine Prusaczyk of Manassas, Virginia, Jeremy A. Hafford and wife Julie of Kangaroo Flat, Australia, Jayson K. Hafford of Harrisburg, Illinois, Jaime L. Hafford of Harrisburg, Illinois, Emily Stockdale and husband Danny of Salem, Oregon, Eric Prusaczyk of Panama City Beach, Florida, Elsie Prusaczyk of Dothan, Alabama, 10 great-grandchildren; Joshua, Tyler, Alyssa, Trinity, Ruby, Henry, Raegan, Gage, Lydia and Ava.

     In addition to his parents and wife, Doc was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Cony, Charlie, Chester, John, Mary, Bertha and Jenny. 

      A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
