                                          December 27, 1931 – August 22, 2025

                                                                Psalm 116:15

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.”

Wanda Faye (Patsy) Waite passed peacefully at her home in Ft. Smith, AR on Friday August 22.

She was born in Hamburg, IL on December 27, 1931 at a family farm. She was raised in Raleigh, IL, where she attended school through the 8th grade. She then attended Harrisburg High School, where she met her husband Farrel Glen Waite of Harrisburg, IL.  They were married on November 19, 1951.  They remained happily married for over 66 years prior to his passing on September 13, 2018.

Wanda was a long-time member of McKinley Ave. Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL. For many years she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the church choir and orchestra (French horn), and started and led the quilting club, which raised a great deal of funds for the church over the years.  She was also a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi women’s sorority. She had many hobbies including ceramics, crocheting, and was an avid reader.  Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper for Midland Construction, secretary for the Southeastern Illinois Nursing School, and as a real estate agent for Ozment real estate. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was also a die-hard STL Cardinal baseball fan.

She is preceded in death by her husband Farrel, her parents Henry (Pat) and Nina Hall, her in-laws Leslie and Lavenia Waite, her grandson Anthony Jason Fulbright, and great grandson Brantly Jason Fulbright.

She is survived by: Son Steven Waite of Ridgefield, CT,  his children Joseph, Anthony, Olivia, Eric, and Juliana; Daughter Marilyn Waite of Ft. Smith, AR, her son Adam Taylor, his wife Shauna, and daughter Grace; Daughter Glynda Fulbright of Winter Haven, FL, her husband Greg Fulbright and their granddaughter Mackenzie Fulbright; Son Ryan Waite of Ft. Smith, AR, his son Mitchell Waite, and Mitchell’s mother Kristie Jo Waite. All that knew Wanda can attest that she passionately loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

In leu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local hospice, wherever anyone maybe.
