Wanda Louise Reed, age 89 of Marion, passed away at 3:15 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Integrity Healthcare of Marion with her family by her side.
Wanda was born on September 14, 1936 in Uniontown, Kentucky to the late Willie and Thelma Dee (Penrod) Stone. On April 16, 1972 she married Gene Reed and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2004. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church. Wanda worked as a waitress/cashier at Redcoach Restaurant in Schillerpark, Illinois and Old Country Buffet in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. She was an avid reader, loved to fish and enjoyed playing cards. Wanda had a good sense of humor. She loved her family dearly and they loved her.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Patricia Louise Jirkovsky and husband James of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; one granddaughter, Tina Louise Rozema and husband Thaddeus of Elwood, Illinois; one great-granddaughter, Teresa Louise Forsberg and husband Jeffery of Aurora, Illinois; four great, great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Victoria, Claire and James Forsberg all of Aurora, Illinois; sister, Thelma June Winkleman of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; brother, Bobby Stone and wife Chris of Carrier Mills, Illinois; sister, Cindy Messmore of Harrisburg, Illinois; sister-in-law, Carol Stone of Annadale, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gene, Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Willie Roland Brasher, great granddaughter, Christina Ann Graham, brother, James Stone; sister, Alberta Wright; sister, Naomi Rogers; brother, Billy Stone; sister, Ann Hinant; and sister Marilyn Kay Browning.
Funeral services for Wanda Louise Reed will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Devin Winkleman will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home.
