Tina Jean Henshaw, age 78 of Marion, formerly of Harrisburg passed away at 5:56 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Tina was born on March 3, 1948 to the late Lloyd and Eileen (Walker) Vaughn. She married Michael J. Henshaw and they had three children together. During her career, Tina worked for the University of Illinois Entomology Lab, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Sahara Coal Company and Illinois Department of Central Management Services. She was previously a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, most recently she was a member of The Word in Marion. Tina was a member of The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg High School Class of 1966. She was an outgoing individual who enjoyed socializing and having lunch with her friends. Tina loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs, shopping, fishing and working puzzles; but her favorite past time was spending time with her family. Tina’s faith was very important to her and she deeply loved her church family.
Tina is survived by her three children, daughter, Sara Henshaw and fiancée, David Fox of Goreville, Illinois; son, Jarrod Henshaw and wife Sarah of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; son, Brad Henshaw and wife, Verlinda of Stuart, Florida; seven grandchildren, Morgan Powell of Murrietta, California; Lexi Powell of Rhode Island; Anneliese Moleiro and husband, Israel of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Mitchell Henshaw of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; Whitney Roberts and husband, Kyle of Harrisburg, Illinois; Brennan Street and wife, Brenna of Harrisburg, Illinois; and Skylar Vallette and husband, Dr. Noah Vallette of Memphis, Tennessee; five great grandchildren, Lynnox Street; Beckett Street; Jaxson Vallette; Noah Roberts; and Gian Moleiro.
In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Lane and Jan Hayes.
Memorial services for Tina Jean Henshaw will be held at 2 PM, on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. David Gilley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM, on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make donations to Tina’s church, which can be sent to The Word at 904 W. Chestnut Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
