Thomas William Murray

     Thomas William Murray, age 85 of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

     Thomas was born on July 25, 1936, to the late Raymond V. and Margaret (Spitzer) Murray in Bloomington.  Thomas married Constance “Connie” Murray on October 7, 1983, and she survives.   Thomas retired in 1975 as a Tech Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was an outdoorsman, he loved sports and being at the beach.

     In addition to his wife, Connie, Thomas is survived by six children, daughter Connie Henshaw and husband, Derek of Harrisburg; daughter Peggy Rakowski and husband, Tony of Wisconsin; daughter Debbie Sullivan and husband, T.A. of Harrisburg; son, Thomas V. Murray of Harrisburg; daughter, Sherry Kadoch and husband, Enrique of Texas; and son Richard R. Murray and wife, Glenda of O’Fallon; grandchildren, Dylan Henshaw, Allyson Henshaw, Lauren Van Kuren, Ali Stockton, T.A. Sullivan IV, Sean Sullivan, Megan Harrison, Christina Murray, Rhys Murray, Keeley L’Esperance and multiple great grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Murray and wife Dorothy of Bloomington, brother-in-law, Donald Jones of Creal Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Jones; and a granddaughter, Danielle Copus.

     A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 6 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Kevin Sullivan will officiate. Military rites will follow by the United States Air Force. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Donations may be made at “t2t.org” or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
