Thomas Jeffrey Hobbs, Sr.

     Thomas Jeffrey Hobbs, Sr., age 74, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:38 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

     Thomas was born in Chicago on July 12, 1947 to Elmer and Kathy Hobbs. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Thomas was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Eldorado. He loved being with friends and shooting pool.

     Thomas is survived by two children, son, Thomas Jeffrey Hobbs, Jr. of DuQuoin; and daughter, Kimberly Hobbs of Illinois; seven grandchildren: Jacob Berry of Carlyle: Peyton Burchett and husband, Dalton of St. Louis, Missouri; Thomas Hobbs III of Salem; Caitlyn Hobbs of Chicago; Chyna Hobbs of Chicago; Charlie Hussman of Harrisburg; and Matt Hussman of Harrisburg; five great grand children and two on the way; brother Gary Hobbs and wife, Jennifer of Vancouver, Washington; brother, Allen Hobbs and wife, Sue of Harrisburg; brother, Kenneth Hobbs of Portland, Oregon; Sister Sue Reidy and husband, Mike of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

     Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

    A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
