Terry Perkins

     Terry Wayne Perkins, age 75 of Harrisburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 12, 2022.

     Terry was born on October 14, 1946 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Willard and Thelma (Lands) Perkins.  Terry married Jane Reed on August 6, 1966, and she survives. 

     Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a man of deep Christian faith.  He was deeply humbled to have served as a Deacon for many years.

     Until his retirement, he worked as an electrician at his business, Perkins Electric.  Terry had previously worked at Sahara Coal Company, where he was a mine manager at the time they closed operations.  Terry was well known for his ability to fix anything. 

     Terry and his wife Jane were married 56 years and were blessed with a son, Shannon Perkins and wife Angie of Harrisburg, Illinois; a daughter, Ellen Sprinkle and husband Brett of Evansville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Zachary Perkins and wife Hannah of Alexandria, Virginia, Garrett Sprinkle and Jalen Sprinkle of Evansville, Indiana.

     Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Stricklin Funeral Home, formerly Reed Funeral Chapel, in Harrisburg. Rev. Ron Reed will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Stricklin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund or McKinley Avenue Baptist Church Youth Group.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
