Tammy Lynn (McCree) Thomas

    Tammy Lynn Thomas, age 61, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:16 PM on Thursday,

January 19, 2023, at her home.

     Tammy was born on September 30, 1961 in Marion to John W. McCree and Elma (Dawson) McCree. She worked previously at the Hat Factory in Harrisburg, and retired from Crisp Container in Marion as a Machine operator.

     Tammy enjoyed crafting, antique shopping, flowers, loved her bird, Sky and Toby Keith. She was a loving mother.

     Tammy is survived by one daughter, Ashley Sanders and husband Jason of Johnston City; her mother, Elma Furlong of Marion; sister, Judy Patterson and husband Bob of Harrisburg; brother, John C. McCree of Mt. Vernon; brother, Kenny Furlong and wife Tara of Marion; brother, Danny Furlong of West Frankfort; sister, Shannon Bolander of Oklahoma; sister, Pattie McCree Abernathy of Missouri; and brother, John W. McCree of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.  

     Tammy was preceded by her father, John W. McCree, and Ashley’s father, Donald Gene Thomas Jr.

     Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday, January 23, 2023 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg with funeral services immediately following at 1 PM. Pastor Zachary Furlong will officiate and burial will follow in Caplinger Cemetery in Marion.
