Steven Alan Furlong

     Steven Alan Furlong age 69, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:33 AM, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at his residence.

     Steven was born on March 11, 1955 in Carbondale, Illinois to the late Luther and Wanda (Fulkerson) Furlong.  He was a truck driver for S.I. Motor Express and McBride Truck Sales.  Steven loved watching westerns and trucking; he was a trucker through and through.  He enjoyed riding the four-wheeler with his grandkids and woodworking.  Steven was a good father.

     Steven is survived by his fiancée, Deborah Ellis; son, Jason Furlong of West Frankfort; Chad Smith and wife Angi of North Dakota; daughter, Dawn Rambert and husband William of Carrier Mills; son, Luther Furlong and wife Jessica of Harrisburg; sixteen grandchildren, Aaliyah Coleman, Miya Furlong, Jaeden King, Aubrey Furlong, Ashlynn Furlong, Joshua Furlong, Dakota Smith, Mackenzie Jordan, Austin Hageman, Nickole Furlong, Cody Furlong, Hope Martin, Neal Martin, Faye Furlong, Kenneth Martin, Joseph Furlong, four great grandchildren and two on the way, brother, Mark Furlong, two nephews, Logan and Chris and niece, Jamie.    

     In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Selena Hageman.

     Funeral services for Steven Alan Furlong will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Mark Furlong will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
