Stephanie Ann Moutria, 54, of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2026, at 2:02 p.m. She passed away peacefully at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, following a courageous seven-month battle with a Stage IV glioblastoma.
Stephanie was born in Eldorado, Illinois, on October 7, 1971. She was a 1989 graduate of Harrisburg High School and went on to attend Olivet Nazarene University, Southeastern Illinois College (SIC), and Southern Illinois University (SIU) pursuing her passion for social work and serving children and the elderly.
A profound faith and a servant’s heart guided Stephanie throughout her life. Her deep passion for helping children and vulnerable populations led her to a meaningful career in social services. She spent years advocating for others, working with Lutheran Social Services and, most recently, with Myers and Stauffer, where she dedicated herself to assisting with government support programs for underserved communities.
Her compassion extended directly into her personal life as well, opening her heart and home as a devoted foster mother to three children.
Most importantly, Stephanie was guided by her deep and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Stephanie was an active and cherished member of Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky. She poured her energy into children’s ministry and took great joy in sharing God's love. Her missionary spirit led her on journeys to Nicaragua, as well as church youth group trips across Canada, Florida, and North Carolina. Above all, Stephanie treasured her family, finding her greatest earthly joy in her role as “Mimi” and spending precious time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dan Moutria, whom she married on December 12, 2015. She is also survived by her three children: Rachael Christine Paris and her husband Ahilan “Agi” Appar of Lexington, Kentucky (soon relocating to Madrid, Spain); Rebecca Anne and adored grandchildren Dean Maxfield Brooks and Ruby Paige Brooks of Carrier Mills, Illinois; and Nicolas Aaron Paris and Dawn Marie Davis and their daughter Nala Temari Sky Phipps of Pittsburg, Illinois.
Stephanie leaves behind her parents, Robert L. and Joyce Dunn of Harrisburg, Illinois, and Lora Mae White of Eldorado, Illinois; her brother, Jeffrey Dunn and his wife Erin of St. Louis, Missouri; and her beloved nieces, Emma Grace Dunn and Anna Katherine Dunn and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Bill and Mary Pearce of Cottonwood, Illinois and Claude and Emma Dunn of Stonefort, Illinois.
