Shirley Dean (Boyett) Martin

    With heavy hearts, we share the strong finish of Shirley Dean Martin, who passed away peacefully at the family farm and went to Heaven on June 17, 2025. 

     Shirley was born July 9, 1933 at the Baker homestead in the Mt. Moriah Community, daughter of Robert C. and Virginia M. (Ashe) Boyett. 

     On February 2, 1952, Shirley married the love of her life, Bill N. Martin, and three children were born Monte Rae, Billy Ray (deceased), and Michael Dean. The matriarch of her family. She lived a life rich in love for her family. She will be remembered for her strong love for her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters, whom she named.   

     Shirley is survived by daughter, Monte (Gary) Evans, and their children Emily Dean Evans (Curtis) Wells and Matthew Robert Evans. Son Mike (Michelle) Martin and her sons Thomas and Noah Vieira. She is also survived by her sister Linda Burnet. 

     One of the greatest honors in her life was naming her great granddaughters choosing their names with care, meaning, and love. Miley Dean and Lydia Rae Wells. 

     Shirley was preceded in death by infant son Billy Ray Martin in 1955, her parents Robert and Virginia Boyett, husband Bill December 1,2006, brother Charles Robert Boyett. 

     Shirley leaves a legacy of strength and love that her family will always carry in their hearts. 

     She was a universe made up of waves that brought life, stars that hold dreams landscapes of home, rocks that will crumble but will always remain. The winds gentle sway and the strongest roar. She was our family's "all."
