Shirlene Angela (Filthaut) Curran

     Shirlene Angela Curran, 87 years old, passed on to her heavenly home at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Ferrell Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Shirlene was born on July 28, 1937, to Ernest and Valeda (Surprenant) Filthaut in Baseline, Michigan.  For many years, Shirlene was a wonderful stay-at-home mother to her three children.  In her later years, Shirlene worked for Cramer Food Company.  Shirlene attended Bankston Fork Baptist Church.  On December 29, 1990, Shirlene married Kenneth Caroll Curran and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2017.

     Shirlene is survived by her three children – Terry Tripp, Harrisburg, IL; Lynn Booth (John Patchett), Plymouth, MI; and Shirley Papp, Clare, MI and daughter-in-law, Jacque Tripp, Harrisburg, IL. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren – Heather (Brandon) Morse, Harrisburg, IL; Terry (Whitney) Tripp, Harrisburg, IL; Angela (Marco) Ramos, Apex, NC; Stephanie (Jason) Montney, Clare, MI, and John (Larra) Booth, Stonefort, IL.  Shirlene was blessed with ten great-grandchildren – Krayton, Colby (Bailey Stricklin), and Emmerson Morse, Tenley and Trace Tripp, Jackson, Ja’el, and Jonah Ramos, Nicholas Mikolowski, and Jack Booth.  She is survived by brothers Donald Filthaut, Clyde, MI;, Raymond (Janette) Filthaut, Yale, MI; sister-in-law, Ann Filthaut, Crossville, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Shirlene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers- Gordon Filthaut, Edward Filthaut, Jerry Filthaut, Ronald Filthaut, Robert Filthaut, and sisters – Annette Sieben and Sharon Wright.

     Services will be held on Monday, April 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at Stricklin Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Monroe officiating.  Burial will follow at Bankston Fork Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Memorial gifts can be made to Bankston’s Blessings.
