Sheila Bruce Obituary

      Sheila Faye Bruce, passed away at her home in Dowell, Illinois on September 4, 2024 at the age of 72. She was born on July 24, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana. Sheila was a Christian. She loved going to church when her health would let her. She loved being with her friends and family. But if Shelia thought of you as a friend, then you were family.

     She lived in Dowell, Illinois with her spiritual husband, Darrell Newformer.

     She was preceded in death by her late husband, William Bruce, mother Rosalle Fark, step father, James Fark, brothers, Thomas Brown, James Jr., Heith, and Keith; sisters Pamela, and Kimberly Bruce; brothers-in-law, Wayne Bruce and Gary Bruce; grandson, Michael Scalf and two of her best friends, Raymond and Nelma Winters.

     Sheila leaves behind her sister, Brenda Patterson and husband Allen, daughter, Peggie Scalf, sons, Joe Bruce, Michael Scalf and wife Candice, Riley Aliff and wife Anna; and step daughter, Paige Lyera. There were a lot of people in her life that she said were her children.  There are a lot of grandkids, great grandkids and even a great-great grand baby. Lots of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She loved each and every one of them.

     Funeral services for Sheila Faye Bruce will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Kendall Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the service hour. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
