Rosemary Bell Deaton, 86, of Harrisburg, IL passed away February 14, 2024 at Harrisburg Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 22, 1938 in Carrier Mills, IL at home to the late Andrew Edward Bell and Mary Aline Killman Bell.
Rosemary retired from Hardee's in 1998 after 22 ½ years. She was a faithful attendant of Carrier Mills First Baptist, and then McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Her family and friends enjoyed her wicked sense of humor, her sass, and her wit. She loved spending time with people, loved a Coke or Root Beer, working a puzzle, and enjoyed her snacks.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jeffrey Lowell Deaton. She is survived by her daughter Jill Suzanne Tanner (Daniel); granddaughters Rebekah Suzanne Hawkins (Phil) and Keturah Michelle Dusch (Justin); and three great-granddaughters, Nora and Hazel Hawkins and Carys Dusch. She also leaves behind her second family at Shawnee Rose Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church Youth and/or Children’s Department.
Funeral services for Rosemary Bell Deaton will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Brother Trent Duncan will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
