Roger Dale Horton

     Roger Dale Horton, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:42 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.

     Roger was born in Harrisburg on June 15, 1945 to the late Clarence and Fern (Martin) Horton. He married Sharon (Reynolds) DeNeal on December 28, 1994 and she survives in Harrisburg. Roger retired from Kerr McGee/American Coal Company where he worked as a coal miner.

     In addition to his wife Sharon, Roger is survived by his daughter Terri Turner and husband Brad of Paducah, Kentucky; son, Todd Horton and wife Connie of Harrisburg; son, Tracy Horton, and wife Kristie of Utah; daughter, Tiffany Michel of Harrisburg; step-son, Devin DeNeal of Harrisburg; step-son, Darryl DeNeal and wife Katrina of Texas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Rita Prather and husband Tim of Paducah, Kentucky; and two nephews.

     Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Pastor Robert Turner will officiate and burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
