Robin Rilott Obituary

Robin Renee Rilott, 62, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.  She was born on August 3, 1962 in Geneva, Illinois, the daughter of Ron and Melba Rilott and was a 1983 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Anna, IL.

Robin enjoyed arts and crafts and was a 1989 Special Olympics International winner in Artwork.  Quite an athlete, she played basketball, loved bowling, and competed in several Special Olympics Games including the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games where she received ribbons in 3 Equestrian categories.  She was sweet, and she was sassy and easily won the hearts of those who met her!  Everyone who knew Robin has a story to tell!   She’d say, “You’re slippin’” if you weren’t quite up to her standards!  When she wasn’t cracking jokes and giggling at her own wittiness, Robin enjoyed dancing, singing, puzzles, and listening to music – especially Elvis!

For the past 41 years, Robin lived at the Walnut St. CRA and then the Lincoln Street CILA (community integrated living arrangement) operated by Coleman Tri-County Services, Inc. where her housemates and staff were part of her loving family.  For many years, she worked at the City Development Training, Shawneetown Vocational Workshop, and Harrisburg Community Day Services and was active at THE CHURCH “Of New Beginnings.”

Robin leaves behind her sisters, Rhonda Eberhard of Acworth, GA and Randi New (Chris) of Bainbridge, GA; Aunts Mabel Weiss Roth of Godfrey, IL and Denise Rilott of Rockford, IL; Uncle Bob Weiss of Seattle, WA; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, her housemates: Ron, Mike, and Kim; and the most caring and dedicated staff at Lincoln CILA, especially long-time caretakers Kayla, Amy, Samantha, Jamie, and Brenda.

Robin was preceded in death by her mother, Melba Weiss Rilott; father, Ronald Charles Rilott; and uncles, Dave Roth and Jim Rilott.

A “celebration of life” service will be held Saturday, March 29th at 1:00pm at THE CHURCH  “Of New  Beginnings” in Eldorado, IL. Those attending are encouraged to wear Robin’s favorite color – pink!  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Coleman Tri-County Services, P.O. Box 869, Harrisburg, IL 62946.
