Roberta Ilene Friend

     Roberta Ilene Friend, 75 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:05 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Eldorado Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

     Roberta was born on August 7, 1948 in Harrisburg to the late Walter Franklin and Olivia I. (Owen) Owens. On March 1, 1965 she married Edward Ray Friend and he survives in Harrisburg. Roberta was a retired Personnel Manager for Walmart and she had previously worked for Kroger. She was a member of the First Church of God in Harrisburg and most recently attended Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene in Harrisburg. Roberta loved crafts and cooking; especially for her extended family and friends.

     In addition to her husband Edward, Roberta is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ann Fulkerson and husband Richard of Harrisburg; and Melissa Oliver and husband Lars of Eddyville; two grandchildren, Whitney Reiner of Harrisburg, and Brandon Reiner of Eddyville; nephew, Michael Friend and wife Shelley and great nephew, Jasper Friend; and brother-in-law, Murray Friend and wife Susan of Simpson.

     Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary York and great granddaughter, Nova McDowell.

     Funeral services for Roberta Ilene Friend will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
