Randy Lee Green, age 67 of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:22 PM, on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Randy was born on July 22, 1958 in Carmi, Illinois to the late James Lee “Jim” and Frances Sue (Clark) Green. On August 20, 1977 he married Deborah Sue (Farris) Shockley. He later married Marcia (Furlow) Logan on June 24, 2017. Randy worked as a painter and sandblaster for both Fabick Cat and Miller’s Contracting. After his retirement he started working at Best One Tire, mounting tires. Randy attended Little Chapel Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Randy had a green thumb and could grow anything, anywhere. He loved working in the yard and searching for marbles when he would till up the garden. Randy was a hard worker. He has much extended family that he has remained close to. He and his wife have remained especially close to his Aunt Ruby & Uncle Mac McDowell from Evansville, Indiana. Randy and Marcia's marriage began by him asking to go to church with her for their first date. God was their foundation through it all!
Randy's life was a testimony to his faith in Jesus Christ. Despite many hardships, he persevered with steadfast trust in God, giving Him the glory in all things. He was known for his strong work ethic and resilient spirit.
Randy loved to garden. He'd joke that his green thumb came with the family name. He had a silly sense of humor that left everyone with a smile. His grandchildren adored him, and he loved being their Papa.
Randy is survived by his wife, Marcia Green of Harrisburg; Illinois; daughter, Lori Lee Voss and husband, Derrick of Red Bud, Illinois; son, Jaimie Lee Green and wife, Kyndal of Carrier Mills, Illinois; daughter, Sandi Nicole Harkness and husband, J.R. of Olympia, Washington; twelve grandchildren, Haley, Presley, Isabel, Violet, Finn, Dixie, Justice, Autumn, Evan, Jameslee, Jake and Fiona; brother, Roger Green and wife, Lisa of Burnt Prairie, Illinois; brother-in-law, Jon Gieselman of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Jonna Piercy and husband, Michael of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and Kadie Bopp and husband, Blake of Jefferson City, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Gieselman.
A Celebration of Life for Randy Lee Green will be held at a later date.
