Phyllis June Harris, age 92 of Harrisburg passed away at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Saline Care Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Phyllis was born in Harrisburg, on September 2, 1932 to the late Clyde and Maxine (Folgarty) Harris. She was a very active member of Pankeyville Baptist Church, formerly serving as church song leader. Phyllis loved to sing and was very devoted to her church and church family. She worked for GTE, initially as a switchboard operator, then in the office until her retirement. Phyllis was an avid reader and especially loved romance and mystery novels. She was also a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Phyllis is survived by her niece, Sandra Kay Summerlin and husband, Keith of Cabot, Arkansas; niece, Terrie Harris of Jacksonville, Arkansas; nephew, Myron Keith Harris of Morgantown, West Virginia; great nieces and nephews, Nikole Summerlin of Cabot, Arkansas; Eric Summerlin and wife Tara of Clairmont, Florida; Aaron Summerlin and wife Nikki of Cabot, Arkansas; and great-great niece and nephew, Ali and Noah.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, James Franklin Harris and wife Joyce; and sister, Barbara Jean Harris.
Graveside services will be held for Phyllis June Harris at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Rev. Ernie Fowler will officiate and burial follow at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pankeyville Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
