Penny Renee Gentry

Penny Renee Gentry, age 63 of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:15 PM, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her residence.

     Penny was born on October 30, 1959 in Zion, Illinois to the late Roy Lee and Ruby (Scott) Gentry.  She worked as a Manager at Cherry Street Printing.  Penny was a helpful person who never stopped helping.  She was a member of a bowling league at Ross Cottom Lanes.  Penny also loved cats and fishing.  She was a family-oriented person who will always be remembered for her impact on everyone she came into contact with.

     Penny is survived by her life partner, Carol Pumphrey; her daughter, Stephanie Nugent and husband Doug; grandchildren, Erica Pezzoni and husband Logan; Ethan Mitchell; great granddaughter, Denali Pezzoni; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

     In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Yielding, brother, Jimmy Yielding and sister, Judy Terrien.    

     A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Harrisburg Township Park District. Pastor Carolyn Ellison will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Wright-Way Rescue Shelter.
