Paul Dan Steapleton

     Paul Dan Steapleton, age 67 of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:48 AM, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at his residence.

     Paul was born on April 11, 1959 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Ralph and JoAnn (Stanciu) Steapleton.  On January 30, 1979 he married Jenny Horton and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2019.  Paul was self-employed as a Diesel Mechanic.  Some knew Paul as PD or Paul Dan, if you knew Paul, you loved him.  He was a member of Equality Church of God.  Paul loved being outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, deer hunting, rock hunting, and playing “cheating” cards.   He loved his family and was an honest and hard-working man who had an unforgettable laugh.    

     Paul is survived by his sister-in-law, Reva Ditterline and husband, Ralph; brother-in-law, Jeff Horton and wife, Tammy; sister-in-law, Vickie Smith and husband, Justin; brother-in-law, Zane Horton; nieces, Crystal, Hattie, Barb, Maggie, and Casey; nephews, Johnathan Dale, Bradley and Karson; many great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; uncle, J.R. Steapleton; cousins, Dale and Cathy Steapleton; and beloved companion, Miss Dawn Gulley.

     In addition to his parents and wife Jenny, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy.

    Funeral services for Paul Dan Steapleton will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg.  Rev. Dale Martin will officiate and burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
