MaryAnne Mayberry of Harrisburg finally boarded that midnight train to Georgia on February 4, 2023 at 8:11 am from her home.
MaryAnne was born on June 15, 1957 in Harrisburg to the late Darnell and Rosalee (Coseboon) Mayberry. She was a homemaker, and a proud mother, grandmother and devoted sister. She loved music, particularly Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Dr. Hook and Gladys Knight and the Pips. She also enjoyed dancing to her favorite music. MaryAnne was a member of Honeycomb Church of God.
MaryAnne is survived by her best friend and companion of twenty years, Gordon Hull, three daughters, Delaney Mayberry-Denton and husband Mike Denton of Fairborn, Ohio; Sarah Milligan and husband Daryl Wellen of McLeansoboro; and Megan Alecci and husband Matt of Washington, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Riley and Reagan Jennings of Fairborn, Ohio; Mason and Raela Milligan of Harrisburg; Shelby Wellen of McLeansboro; Gabriel Kain and Anzley Alecci of Washington, Indiana; one great-great granddaughter, Emmalynn Johnson of McLeansboro; brother, Charlie Mayberry of Marion, sister, Linda Gidcumb of Harrisburg, sister, Kimberly Smith of Harrisburg, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayberry of Harrisburg; friend and former husband, Donald Mitchell of Raleigh, mother-in-law, Patsy Mitchell of Raleigh and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, MaryAnne was preceded in death by brothers, Larry, Donald, Gary and Kenneth Mayberry, a sister, Janet Fowler and father-in-law, James Mitchell.
Visitation for MaryAnne Mayberry will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 with funeral services immediately following at 1PM at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Peggy Winters will officiate and burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
