Mary Ann (Palmer) Kanady

     Mary Ann (Palmer) Kanady, age 47, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her residence.

     Mary was born on February 12, 1975 in Harrisburg, to Adrian and Elizabeth (Boyd) Palmer.  She married Shawn Kanady on August 1, 2020. Mary served in the United States Navy and in the United States Army. She was a member of Little Chapel Church.  Mary volunteered at Heaven’s Kitchen and she loved to travel.

     Mary is survived by her husband, Shawn Kanady of Paducah, Kentucky; son, Tyler Jarel Ross of Harrisburg, daughter, Daizha Nicole Locke of Harrisburg, son, Nathan Xavier Locke of Harrisburg; one grandson, Jasiah Jarel Ross of Harrisburg; mother Elizabeth Ann Gee of Marion; half-sister, Donna Jean Lewis and husband Jerry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and a niece, Adriana Palmer of Memphis, Tennessee.

     Mary was preceded in death by her father, Adrian Palmer, brother, James Adrian Palmer, and two uncles, Leo Hohimer and Burtis Sheldon.

     A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Peter’s Creek Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Illinois.  Pastor T.W. Norman will officiate and burial will follow in Peter’s Creek Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy, the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
