Mark Eugene Wilson

     Mark Eugene Wilson, age 67, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away at 7:31 PM, December 22, 2024.

     Mark was born on December 13, 1957 in Eldorado, Illinois to the late Charles Eugene and Velma (Sinks) Wilson. He graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1975. Mark worked as a coal miner for Costain Coal, Pyro Coal Company, and American Coal. He later worked as a car salesman for Alan Miller and for Teffertiller Motors Inc in McLeansboro. Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved cars and was an avid drag racer who could often be found at Accelaquarter Raceway racing his Mopar car.

     Mark is survived by his son, Christopher Wilson and wife Lynne of Raleigh, Illinois; son, Dustin Wilson and wife Victoria Megan of Norris City, Illinois; three grandchildren, Ella Wilson, Dylan Wilson, and Davyn Anderson; and aunt, Loretta White of Pocahontas, Arkansas.

     In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his aunts, Wanda Perkins, Wilma Pankey, and Mildred Reynolds.   

     Funeral services for Mark Eugene Wilson will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Travis Butler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2024. Memorial contributions may be made to his grandchildren college fund that is establish at Legence Bank and will be received at the funeral home.
