Marci Lynn (Kendall) Byrd

     Marci Lynn Byrd, age 54, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:08 PM. Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale surrounded by her family.

     Marci was born in Harrisburg on April 20, 1971 to the late Max Wesley and Carolyn Sue (Roberts) Kendall.  She was a member at Mizpah General Baptist Church.  Marci worked for various places during her career, including Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services as a Home Health Aide, Harrisburg Medical Center as a receptionist, Reservationist for Hyatt Hotels and a front desk clerk at Motel 6.  She was also a licensed beautician.  Marci loved online shopping, collecting purses and minky blankets.  She enjoyed throwing darts and loved to sing and do karaoke.

     Marci is survived by her two sons, Dylan Patrick Byrd and Devyn Blake Byrd of Harrisburg; “daughter”, Kitty Bella Byrd; three grandchildren, Wrenlee, Weston and Noah of Harrisburg; sister, Monti Jones and husband Larry of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents Max and Sue Kendall, Marci was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Byrd.

     Funeral services for Marci Lynn Byrd will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home.  Rev. John Tucker will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Cemetery and will be received at the funeral home.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at Stricklin Funeral Home.
