Luise B. Pittman, age 88 of Harrisburg, passed away at 7:10 AM, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Saline Care Nursing and Rehab Center in Harrisburg.
Luise was born in Heilbronn, Germany on June 4, 1936 to the late Arthur Stefan Gottlob and Lina Christine (Seyffer) Munzing. On July 1, 1953 she married Victor Arthur Pittman and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2013. She formerly worked for the sewing factory as a seamstress, and she ran an upholstery business out of her home. Luise attended Christ Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. She loved crocheting and knitting along with working outside in her flower garden. Luise was a Saline County Master Gardener. She was an avid reader; who loved learning new things and she always had a dictionary nearby in case there was a word she was unfamiliar with.
Luise is survived by two children, son, David Pittman and wife Sandra Dragosz-Pittman of Oak Grove, Kentucky; daughter, Heide Rendleman and husband Mike of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Luke Pittman and wife Savannah of Winter Haven, Florida; Madeline Shepard and husband Jacob of Batavia, Illinois; Brooke Robertson and husband Austin of Creal Springs, Illinois; Nicole Rendleman of North Hampton, Missouri; Tiffany White of St. Louis, Missouri; Melissa Pittman of Tenneessee; and Sarabeth Pittman of Equality, Illinois; three great grandchildren, Samuel Robertson and Sawyer Robertson of Creal Springs, Illinois; and Tristan Todd of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Wilma Ertl of Sontheim, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Victor; Luise was preceded in death by three children, Bill Pittman, Ron Pittman and Warren Pittman; sister, Lore Pauline Goss and three brothers.
Celebration of life for Luise B. Pittman will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Jeff Rush will officiate and burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
