Lucille (Montgomery) Turner

     Ellen Lucille Turner, 100 passed away on August 23, 2024 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

     She was born December 23, 1923 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of Ray and Letha Montgomery. She married Dale Turner on June 30, 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1977.

     In addition to her husband, Dale, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Frank Clift, and her daughter, Terry Jane Brackney.

     Mrs. Turner was resident of Springfield, Illinois, most of her life. She worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company for 28 years upon retirement. Lucille was an active and devoted member of the Jerome Methodist Church and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She loved her grandchildren deeply. Lucille enjoyed also working on crossword puzzles. Her laugh will be greatly missed.

     Lucille is survived by her two children: daughter, Penny Marie Turner Driscoll and husband Dennis of Elizabethtown, Illinois, and son, Mike Turner and wife Debbie of Rib Lake, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

     A private funeral service will be held for Ellen Lucille Turner.
