Louie Douglas

     Louie Douglas, age 90 of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:15 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

     Louie was born on September 10, 1933 in Harrisburg to the late J.D. and Mary (Gates) Douglas.  On February 13, 1964 he married Linda Lou Edwards and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2019.  Louie proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany.  He was a coal miner and he formerly worked for Sahara Coal Company and Amax Coal Company at the Delta Mine.  Louie loved cars, and enjoyed working on anything with wheels.

     Louie is survived by his son, James “Dusty” Douglas of Jacksonville, Illinois; sister, JoAnn Vinyard; sister, Carolyn Collins; brother, Stanley Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents and wife Linda, Louie was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lin Douglas; sister, Barbara Nell Smith; sister, Doris Jean McDowell; sister, Mary Lou Brimm; sister, Peggy Joyce Hargrave; and brother, Glendal Eugene Douglas.

      There will be no services.
