John Edward Kuppart, age 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:15 AM, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Harrisburg Medical Center with his wife by his side.
John was born on February 6, 1945 in Harrisburg to the late Edward Andrew and Eva Mildred (Simmons) Kuppart. On July 22, 1989 he married Marsha Gail Feazel and she survives in Harrisburg. John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 where he fueled aircraft in Vietnam. He was a member of the Springerton Church of Jesus Christ in Springerton, Illinois. John worked as a Coal Miner for Peabody Coal Company at Eagle No. 2 Mine, Morris Coal as a Coal Driller, and Consolidated Coal in various jobs. He also worked as a Meat Cutter at Mad Pricer for 16 years before his retirement. John was an ordained minister and was very passionate witnessing for the Lord until his last days. He was also passionate about making sure the hungry were fed, often supporting the Marion Ministerial Alliance and Men on Mission. John loved his family and stayed in close contact with them.
John is survived by his wife, Marsha Kuppart of Harrisburg; several cousins, aunts, and uncles; aunt, Carolyn Seets of Fulton, Missouri; and uncle, Paul Simmons of Odessa, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Nellie Kuppart and John L. and Cora Simmons.
Funeral services for John Edward Kuppart will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Elder Larry Woodrow, Elder Bill Harl and Elder Jacob Burkett will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.
