Janette Leberman Obituary

     Janette Sue Leberman, age 90, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:45 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Deaconess Illinois Hospital in Marion.

     Janette was born on February 11, 1935 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Brosia and Esther (Kimbrough) Greer.  On June 21, 1962 she married Sam Leberman and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2003.  Janette worked for Dr. Tuttle as his Secretary and then later worked at Harrisburg Medical Center as the Administrator’s Secretary.  She was a member of Gaskin City Missionary Baptist Church.  Janette enjoyed spending time with her great grand baby.  Janette enjoyed going shopping, cooking and light cleaning.  She was always taking care of those around her.

     Janette is survived by her daughter, Sara Wise and fiancé, Matt Erb of Harrisburg; step-daughter, Lisa Buchtmann and husband, Larry of Goldsboro, North Carolina; step-son, Kurt Leberman and wife, Becky of Marion, Illinois; step-son, Joe Leberman of Chicago, Illinois; granddaughter, Jordan Case and husband, Tyler of Omaha, Illinois; four step grandchildren, Lauren Buchtmann; Karen Hinnant and husband, Brandon; Jason Buchtmann and wife, Megan; and Mac Leberman; great granddaughter, Caroline Greer Case; step great grandchildren, Emma and Colin Benton; and Andrew and Allison Hinnant; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, and husband, Sam, Janette was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Greer; and sister, Lucille Cook. 

     Graveside services for Janette Sue Leberman will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Powell Cemetery in Norris City.  Rev. Brent Holloway will officiate.
