James "Jim" D. Fuhr

James D. “Jim” Fuhr, 61 of Eldorado was called home March 20 at his home in Eldorado. He was born February 17, 1962 in Dixon, IL to the late Glendale and Waneta Fuhr.  On Aug 7, 1993 he married Cheryl Green Wisehart and she survives in Eldorado.

Jim was preceded in death by both parents, uncle, John Hall and 3 cousins.

Jim is also survived by sons, Nathaniel Fuhr of Eldorado, IL and Jerome (Jennifer) Wisehart of Texico, IL; grandchildren, Emma Wisehart and Ethan Wisehart; brother, Dan (Kris) Fuhr of Atlanta, GA; his aunt, Fran Honea of AZ; and uncle, Jet (Linda) Hall; and many cousins, family and friends.

Jim grew up in New Bedford, IL and graduated from Manlius High School. Jim attended Bradley University in Peoria where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim moved to Southern Illinois in 1985 and began teaching electronics and later computer networking at SIC. After 20 years of teaching, Jim began working at Shawnee Communications in Equality, IL. He loved his work and work family. He attended Little Chapel Church in Harrisburg.

Jim had many interests in life. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, building and flying RC planes, tinkering on cars and mowers, science and math of any kind, but most of all his personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.  Jim was a wonderful man, husband, father, teacher and friend. A man of great integrity and a brilliant mind. He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg, IL Saturday, March 25 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with funeral services immediately following at 1:00pm. Rev. Dennis Vaughn will officiate.  Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN on Sunday March 26 at 2:00pm.
