James Paul McAdams, age 60 of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:48 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his residence in Harrisburg.
James was born on December 30, 1964 in Portland, Oregon to the late George Paul and Ada Luella (Ritchie) McAdams. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Sue (Davis) Patrick. James was formerly a contractor and loved to fish. “He was a good man, and a great father.” He also loved reading and studying the Bible; often quoting verses to his family. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 107:1, Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, His love endures forever.
In addition to his wife Mary, James is survived by four children, James Arnold Neace of Lexington, Kentucky; Elizabeth Kay Bowlin and Zach of Warsaw, Kentucky; Hoover James Lee Patrick and wife Jessica of Lexington, Kentucky; and Jonathan Patrick and wife Brandi of Harrisburg; ten grandchildren, sisters, Pauline Breezy of Indiana, and Teresa McAdams of Hartford, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son, David Nease.
Funeral services for James Paul McAdams will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Rev. John Hawkins will officiate and visitation will be held from 12 noon until the service hour. Memorial contributions may be made to Stricklin Funeral Home and envelopes will be available at the church.
