Izetta Stricklin, 93 of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:40 AM, on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Izetta was born on August 14, 1931 in Livingston, Kentucky to the late Herman and Pearl (McElmerry) Dickerson. On September 12, 1954 she married Herschel Stricklin and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1981. Izetta was a homemaker and loved crocheting and reading her Bible. She was also very much a people person. She loved meeting new people and making new friends. She loved to socialize.
Izetta is survived by a daughter, Christine Hicks of Harrisburg, three grandchildren, Justin Anthony Davis and wife Amy of Petersburg, Indiana, Joseph Matthew Davis of Petersburg, Indiana, and Dennis Ray Hicks Jr. and wife Heather of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Destiny Faith Hicks of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Trina Michell Hicks of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Samuel Davis of Petersburg, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Herschel, Izetta was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Cheyanne Hicks; sister, Eulene Albert, sister, Loraine Cletcher and son-in-law, Dennis R. Hicks.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado. Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
