George David Krahulec, age 87 of Indianapolis, formerly of Harrisburg, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 5, at IU West Hospital in Avon, Indiana.

George was born on September 1, 1938 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Charles and Ruby (Sheppard) Krahulec. On November 23, 1961 he was united in marriage to Judy Conway and she preceded him in death on July 20, 1997. George served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. George spent much of his life working in the coal mines, where he was respected for his dedication, resilience, and strength. His life was defined not only by his hard work but also by the love and care he showed to those closest to him. George was a member of American Legion George Hart Post #167 and BPOE Lodge of Harrisburg. He was an enthusiast of airplanes and cars.

George is remembered by his dear companion and daughter figure of 26 years, Rachelle Hendershot, whose steadfast loyalty and care were a constant source of comfort. Alongside her, her husband, Kyle Hendershot, and their son, Bodie, whom George cherished as his beloved grandson and greatest joy, were an enduring part of his life.

In addition to his parents and wife, Judy, George was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Milligan.
