"Gator" Leo Jones, Jr.

     “Gator” Leo Jones, Jr. age 52, of Harrisburg passed away at 3 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital surrounded by his family.

     Gator was born on November 3, 1973 in Saline County to the late Leo and Judith (Riley) Jones Sr.  He was an avid outdoorsman.  Gator enjoyed hunting arrowheads, golfing, bowhunting and bass and crappie fishing.  “He could catch a fish in a mud hole.”  Gator was a loving father and grandfather.      

     Gator is survived by his son, Drayson Jones and wife, Iris of Cypress, Illinois; daughter, Kaley Jones of Marion, Illinois; two grandchildren, Beckett Jones and Isla Jones of Cypress, Illinois; brother, Kevin Jones of Muddy, Illinois; sister, Gynelle Jones of Ocala, Florida; step-mother, Patsy Jones of Henderson, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

     Memorial services will be held at a later date.
