Gary Lee Stricklin

     Gary Lee Stricklin, 80 of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:05 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the VA Medical Center.

     Gary was born on October 16, 1941 in Harrisburg, to the late Cecil William and Effie Oval (Vinyard) Stricklin. Gary most recently worked for Brown and Roberts as supervisor. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Gary was a member of the American Legion, and the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting, but most of all spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Dax.

     Gary is survived by his daughter, Julie Drone of Harrisburg, three grandchildren, Bailey Drone and wife Samantha of Edwardsville; Dalton Drone of Edwardsville, and Josie Drone of Bozeman, Montana; sister, Sierra Sue Aubrey of Florida; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews; and special friend, Rosi Reynolds of Harrisburg.

     A memorial service for Gary Lee Stricklin will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Bailey Drone will officiate and military honors will be conducted by the United States Army, the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
