Gary Allan Douglas, age 74 of Eldorado, Illinois passed away at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on May 5, 1951 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late J.T. Douglas and Easter (Millikan) Douglas. On February 24, 1998 he married Janie Jackson and she survives in Eldorado. Gary was a Kenpo Karate Instructor all throughout Southern Illinois including Southeastern Illinois College, John A. Logan College, and Rend Lake Community College. He loved hiking and enjoyed going to the ocean all over Florida. Gary was a good man. He was very kind and gentle; a devoted father and family man.
Gary is survived by his wife, Janie Douglas of Eldorado; son, Jason Douglas and wife, April of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Jennifer Ruble and husband, Kevin of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Leah Genet of Ft. Collins, Colorado; daughter, Alecia Jackson and fiancée, Andrew of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Asher, Willow, Rowan, Aiden, Miya, and Stella; brother, David Douglas and wife, Billie Marie of Prescott Valley, Arizona; two nieces, Jamie Gerald and husband, Brandon of Peoria, Arizona; and Leah Douglas of Joshua Tree, California; and great niece, Sophie Gerald of Peoria, Arizona.
Memorial services for Gary Allan Douglas will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Jason and David Douglas will officiate and burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Douglas Family for final expenses and will be received at the funeral home.
