Eva Nell (Hawkins) Rector

    Eva Nell Rector, 96, of Galatia passed away at 4:10 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

    Eva Nell was the daughter of the late Joel and Myrtle (Aldridge) Hawkins. She married Sherman H. Rector on February 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2005. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Eva Nell loved to read. She was a devoted wife and loving aunt.

     Eva Nell is survived by several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

     Eva Nell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sherman, four brothers, Clifford Hawkins, Joel Hawkins, Jr., Bill Hawkins, Darrell Hawkins, and sister, Wanda Nunn.

     Funeral services for Eva Nell Rector will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Leroy Hicks and Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate and burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
