Edgar Wayne Stevenson

     Edgar Wayne Stevenson, age 73 of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:45 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

     Wayne was born on October 27, 1949 in Granite City, Illinois to the late James O. and Mildred Mae (Webb) Stevenson. On May 27, 1993 he married Wanda Hernandez and she survives in Harrisburg. Wayne served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Wayne worked for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in the Fisheries Division. Naturally, Wayne enjoyed fishing and a good fish fry.  He also loved classic cars and going to car shows.  He was currently restoring his 57 Chevy. Wayne had a passion for gardening, and could fix about anything. He also enjoyed grilling and cooking. He was a wonderful, loving husband.

      Wayne is survived by his wife Wanda, brother, Joe Stevenson and wife Julie of North Pekin; sister, Mary Smith and husband Larry of Pekin, and several nieces and nephews.

      In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded by a brother, Dean Stevenson.

     A celebration of life will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Joe Poirot will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 6 PM at Stricklin Funeral Home.
