Donna Jean Stidman, age 88, of Galatia passed away at Carrier Mills Nursing Home on August 24, 2024 at 1:10 PM.
Donna was born on April 23, 1936 in Beardstown, Illinois to the late Ernest and Thelma (Lyons) Armstrong. On November 8, 1953 she married her husband of 70 years, Bill Stidman and he survives in Galatia. Donna enjoyed quilting, sewing, and her garden flowers. She loved listening to country music and to Elvis Presley. Donna was baptized at the First Christian Church. She was a good wife, mother, and grandmother. Bill said, “Donna never did anything wrong”.
Donna is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons, Dan Stidman and wife Pat of Texas City, Illinois, Tim Stidman and wife Kay of Ada, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Amanda Littler and husband Chris of Harco, Illinois, Salina Brown and husband Aaron of Peoria, Illinois, Holly Stidman-Wallis of Virginia, Illinois; six great grandchildren, Hannah Littler and Ryder Littler of Harco, Illinois, Annika Stidman, David Wallis, James Wallis, Sara Wallis, of Virginia Illinois; one great-great granddaughter on the way; one sister, Janet Wickell of Brevard, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her two sisters, Carole Baumgarner, and Sue Eslinger.
Funeral services for Donna Jean Stidman will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Ken Hall will officiate, and burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Galatia. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
