Donna Belle (Willis) Stevens

     Donna Belle Willis Stevens of Galatia, IL passed away on Thursday, November 13th at the age of 89 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 15, 1935, in Junction, IL to William “Bill” Thomas and Emma Louise Willis. Donna married James K. Stevens on August 8th, 1953. 

     Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her faith, family, and friends above all else. She would say that raising her boys and watching them raise their own families was one of God’s greatest gifts. Donna loved Jesus and serving others, taking joy in cooking and sharing meals with her loved ones, and she treasured every cup of coffee and heartfelt conversation around her kitchen table. She also loved a spirited game of rummy, spending quiet moments crocheting beautiful pieces for those she loved, and caring for her garden. Donna never met a stranger—her warmth and kindness made everyone around her feel loved.

     Donna is survived by her children, Kenny Stevens of Galatia, Wesley (Judy) Stevens of Wasson, Terry (Theresa) Stevens of Galatia. Her grandchildren, Kristi Smith of Harrisburg, James (Amy) Stevens of Galatia, Joey (Dezirae) Stevens of Eldorado, Jonathan (Serah) Stevens of Pekin, Ashley (Travis) Pearcy of Galatia, Miranda Stevens of Georgia, Miriah (Dominic) Fredo of South Carolina. Great-grandchildren: Abby, Brooklyn, Harley, Avery, Brady, Addison, Darby, Westin, and Caleb. Great great-grandson Jude and cousin Dephane Hartman.  

     Donna was preceded in death by her husband James K. Stevens, step-daughter Diane Brasher, parents William “Bill” Willis and Emma Parker Willis.  She will be profoundly missed by her family and a wide circle of friends who were touched by her warm spirit. 

     Funeral services for Donna Belle Stevens will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Weaver will officiate and burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
