Donna Jean Rector

     Donna Jean Rector, age 79, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:18 AM, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Saline Care Center.

     Donna was born in Harrisburg on March 28, 1946 to the late James Arthur and Iva Lea (Sullivan) Hunt.  On March 1966 she married Nicholas (Nick) Rector and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2015.  Donna worked as a Supervisor at the Cap Factory for many years and was a very hard worker before having a stroke in January 1999.  In her later years Donna could be found watching The Price is Right and westerns on tv.  Donna was a strong person; a good mother and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Donna is survived by her son, Shawn Rector of Harrisburg and wife Brandy of Galatia; daughter-in-law, Vicki Rector of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Lea Nicole Rector of Galatia; Damon Jackson of Galatia; Jacob Rector of Harrisburg; Amber Dawn Rector of Harrisburg and her six children; brother, Budge Hunt and wife Frances of Raleigh; sister, Margaret Singleton of Pekin, Illinois; sister, Phyllis Hathaway of Harrisburg; sister, Sharon Tarlton and husband Tenney of Equality; brother, John Hunt of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Scott Rector; brother, Lowell Hunt, sister, Sybil Ewell; brother, Joe Hunt; and brother, Jack Hunt.   

     Graveside services for Donna Jean Rector will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery.  Rev. Steve Hunt will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be to the Rector Family and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
