Diana Nease Obituary

     Diana June Nease, age 74 of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:42 AM, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

     Diana was born on May 7, 1948 to the late Harry T. and Mildred (Smith) Maple. On June 29, 1973 she married Ray Eugene Nease and he survives. Diana was a retired school teacher who worked for the Clay City School District as a High School Business Teacher and she also worked for the Tamaroa School District as an Elementary Teacher. Diana was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Harrisburg where she formerly taught catechism class to children. She enjoyed camping, travelling, reading, crocheting, plastic canvas, painting by number and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was always there for her family.

     In addition to her husband Ray, Diana is survived by a son, Rick Nease and wife Shelley of Kalispell, Montana; daughter, Nicole Bristow and husband Kenny of Carrier Mills; daughter, Karen Handquest and husband Zach of Perryville, Missouri; daughter, Becky Perkins and husband John of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, Norman Nease II, Jessica Nease, Levi Nease, Samuel Nease, Kyle Bristow, Elizabeth Bristow, Brett Handquest, Matthew Perkins and Logan Perkins; brother, Tom Maple and wife Lisa of Florida, sister, Cindy Welton of Chester, and several nieces and nephews.

     Diana was preceded in death by her parents, brother in infancy, Thomas Edward Maple, granddaughter, Frances Nease, and a grandson, Luke Perkins.

     Funeral Mass for Diana June Nease will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Father Christian Iwuagawu will officiate and burial will follow in Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Friday, April 21, 2023 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
