David Lee Stilley

     David Lee Stilley, age 77 of Harrisburg, IL passed away December 4, 2022 in Carbondale, IL.

     He was born in Harrisburg, IL on February 19, 1945 to the late Ira David and Hazel (Land) Stilley. On November 30, 1963, he married the love of his life, Karen Jerrells, who survives. They had just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. He was a long-time, active member of the S.C.A.N. (ham radio) club, call sign K9TSI, serving as treasurer. Following in his father’s footsteps, David enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Most of all, David enjoyed spending time with his family after retirement from SEIEC after 37 years of service.

     David is survived by his wife, Karen, one daughter, Tina Stilley-Vaughn of Harrisburg, one son, Mark (Angela) Stilley of Bradenton, FL; one granddaughter, Audrey (Nick) Cofield of Carrier Mills; two sisters, Reta (Jim) Tolbert of Eldorado, Becky (John) Patton, Harrisburg; one brother, Deneen Stilley of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews.

     David will be reunited with his eldest sister, Dorothy Lane, brothers-in-law, Jerry Lane and Larry Green, and both of his parents, who preceded him on the journey.

     Visitation for David Stilley will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg, IL with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jerry Alexander will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Harrisburg.
