Darol Eugene Beal

     Darol Eugene Beal, age 79, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:08 PM, on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

     Darol was born on January 27, 1946 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Kelly and Dorothy (Towery) Beal.  He married Carolyn Thomas in 1973 and she survives in Harrisburg.  Darol proudly served his country as a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam.  He graduated from ITT and was the oldest person at that time to graduate with honors.  Darol was a retired coal miner working for Sahara Coal Company and Peabody Coal Company.  He worked in the machine shop for Maytag and also worked at the Golden Circle until his retirement.  Darol was a member of the American Legion George Hart Post #167 and Disabled American Veterans.  He loved to bass fish and deer hunt.  Darol was a great husband, father and grandfather.

     In addition to his wife, Carolyn, Darol is survived by his son, Darrell Wayne Beal of Harrisburg; son, Johnathon Eugene Beal of Vincennes, Indiana; daughter, Erin Feazel and husband, Robert Derek of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Morgan Beal of Vincennes, Indiana; Kaydence Feazel of Harrisburg; brother, Lucian Beal of Harrisburg; brother, Kelly Beal and wife Kay of Harrisburg; nieces and nephews, Sherry Bishop and husband, Perry of Harrisburg; Kimberly Beal of Harrisburg; Mike Beal of Tampa, Florida; Chris Beal of Louisville, Kentucky; Lori Beal of Chicago, Illinois; and Ronnie Beal of Marion, Illinois.

     In addition to his parents, Darol was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Hinant and Mary Lou Herring.    

     Services for Darol Eugene Beal will be held at a later date.
