Daniel "Danny" Wayne Dixon

     Daniel Wayne “Danny” Dixon, age 64 of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at his residence.

     Danny was born on December 21, 1960 in Eldorado, Illinois to the late Charles and JoEtta (Watts) Dixon.  He worked as a coal minter for Peabody Coal Company and Eagle Valley Mine.

Danny attended Vatterott College.  He was a member of Sparta Eagle Lodge Aeria 3059.  Danny enjoyed motorcycles, boating, watersports, golfing and hanging out with friends telling jokes.

     Danny is survived by his son, Zachary Dixon “Zach” of Glen Burnie, Maryland; brother, David Dixon and wife, Marnie of Harrisburg; sister, Vicki Sparks and husband Larry of Metropolis; niece, Krissy; and nephews, Jason, Jake and Travis.

     Memorial services for Daniel Wayne “Danny” Dixon will be held at 5 PM, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home.  An open house will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Sparta Eagle Lodge Aeria 3059, 112 East Main Street, Sparta, Illinois 62286 from 2 PM to 6 PM with a service at 4 PM.
