Constance Mae "Connie" Murray

     Constance Mae “Connie” Murray, age 82 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Villas of Holly Brook in Harrisburg. 

     Connie was born on May 1, 1941 in Harrisburg to the late John and Ida Mae (Douglas) Hart.  On January 1, 1962 she married Mike Turner.  She later married Thomas Murray on October 7, 1983 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2021.  Connie was a homemaker.  She was Baptist by faith and she was very strong in her faith.  Connie enjoyed sewing, cooking, working in her vegetable garden and canning; but mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was the caretaker of the family, a hard worker, and always ensured everything was “just right”.

     Connie is survived by her son Brent Turner and wife Gay of Equality; daughter, Tammy McKenzie and husband Bill of Marion; daughter, Connie Henshaw and husband Derek of Ridgway; four grandchildren, Brittany Mitchell of Marion; Jana Jones and Alyssa of Kansas City, Missouri; Dylan Henshaw of Ridgway; and Allyson Henshaw of Ridgway; several great grandchildren and sister, Mona Langford and husband Roger of Harrisburg.

     In addition to her parents, and husband Thomas, Connie was preceded in death by her brother, John “Duke” Hart.

     Graveside services for Constance Mae “Connie” Murray will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Rev. Gary Graves will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Wounded Warriors Project.
