Chris (Lorenz) Stone

     Susanne Christine “Chris” Stone, age 66, of Carrier Mills passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at her residence.

     Chris was born on January 2, 1959 in Portage, Indiana to the late Charles and Madelyn (Samuelson) Lorenz. In 1996 she married Bob Stone and he survives in Carrier Mills. She attended First United Methodist Church of Carrier Mills. Chris was an avid gardener and cook, writing her own recipes. She had love for butterflies and sunflowers. Chris was deeply loved by her grandkids, to whom she was their Mama, Memaw, and Granny. She was well loved by her family and she will be deeply missed.

     In addition to her husband, Bob, Chris is survived by her four children, Donnie Wilson and Jamie Stricklin of St. Louis Missouri; Madelyn Weiss and husband Matt of Harrisburg, Illinois; Bobby Stone and wife Kimberly of Carrier Mills, Illinois; Christine Brown and husband Brett of Harrisburg, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Branden Ryan of Sullivan, Illinois; Elijah Wilson and Cassidy Caldwell of St. Louis Missouri; Josey Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri; Layla Wilson of Metropolis, Illinois; Ryder Wilson of Metropolis, Illinois; Jaden Sigler of Harrisburg, Illinois; Mason Weiss of Harrisburg, Illinois; Izabella Stone of Carrier Mills, Illinois; Elliott Stone of Carrier Mills, Illinois; Athena Brown of Harrisburg Illinois; and Iris Brown of Harrisburg, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Willow Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri; Harper Silkwood of St. Louis, Missouri, and one on the way; brother, Kenneth Lorenz; sister, Karen Blakely; sister, Julie Risley; sister, Beth Wrigley; brother, Tim Lorenz, and sister, Jennifer Costello; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, Chris is preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law Bill and Thelma Stone; grandson, Jonah Wilson, and brother, John Lorenz.

     Funeral services for Chris Stone will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home. Johnny Probus will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 1 PM, on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
